Background

Born to a captain in the royal guard and a woman in the empress's retinue, he was destined to be a solider. And he was a good one. Loyal, obedient, and righteous. Matthias never used his weapon if it was not completely necessary. He saw the role of a soldier under the Crown of Emperor Mehmet II as spreading the truth and light of the regime to all corners of the world.

In early retirement he spends time with his young daughters and is still madly in live Bilhah, his high school sweetheart. This disaster disturbed his peace. He is intent if keeping his family safe and to rebuild after this disaster of unknown origin ravaged the earth.

Skills & Professions
A great marksmen, loving father, very protective of Axia and Polyxenia, he also has the ability to keep people in a good mood by telling jokes. A strong man - in great physical shape for his age (50)

Story
Matthias simply lived his life the right way. He served the Crown for 30 years before retirement. He began when Mehmet I was Emperor and for the entire reign of Mehmet II - his retirement coincided with the  mysterious death of Mehmet II and the coronation of Mehmet III. He never served under Mehmet III and does not trust him.
